Encalife Atmosphere Galaxy & Star Projector Review

The Encalife Atmosphere projector is a tech-focused device with all the bells and whistles you could ever ask for! Read on to see what we think about its performance capabilities and features!

Ease Of Use

Let's start with ease of use. The Encalife Atmosphere is more advanced than other projector lights you might see on the market. As a result, simplicity is a bit of a double-edged sword.

If you're not very tech-savvy, the galaxy light may be more challenging to figure out. You'll notice that the housing doesn't have any external buttons. That's because everything adjusts through a smartphone app or voice commands!

The unit connects to Wi-Fi and works with both Google Home and Amazon Alexa. On this front, the system is pretty easy to control. All you have to do is speak clearly to turn it on, adjust colors, and more. But of course, you do have to go through the setup process. And unless you understand smart home technology, that can be a bit of a hassle.

The Encalife Atmosphere is not a plug-and-play kind of device. But once you get everything up and running, it's a breeze to use and control. Luckily, Encalife includes some straightforward instructions to help you out after purchase.

The ease of use all depends on your skills and your needs. The smartphone control system may be beneficial for parents looking to utilize the projector in their child's room. In that case, you can take the reigns and adjust the lighting parameters while your child sits back and enjoys the show.

But if you're looking for a more archaic way to control the lights, the Encalife Atmosphere may be too advanced for you.

Features

The features on this galaxy and star projector do not disappoint! It truly has all the bells and whistles. Encalife managed to combine the old-school functionality of at-home planetariums with the high-tech flexibility of modern smart lights.

The lighting system inside can generate more than 16.7 million different colors.

Yes, you read that right. It can make 16.7 million colors! Those colors combine to create some truly stunning images. The projector is capable of producing awe-inspiring nebula clouds filled with amazing color detail. The nebula clouds aren't your average puffs of dark and light color. They are realistic-looking, replicating the real gaseous bodies in deep space!

On top of the nebula is a grid of green stars. The stars aren't astronomically accurate or reflective of any real constellations. However, that doesn't take away from the beauty.

The Encalife Atmosphere isn't about scientific realism. It's about creating a stylized look that can captivate onlookers wherever it goes!

Performance

This projector is a real beauty. Like we mentioned earlier, it's capable of generating millions of colors. From a performance standpoint, it trumps anything else on the market. We can't stress enough how much of a difference the innovative lighting system creates. The images are life-like and organic, resulting in an out-of-this-world show that you won't forget anytime soon.

The Encalife projector also has a lot of performance flexibility. Within the smartphone app, you can make adjustments to the brightness levels. The system also has moving elements, which you can fine-tune to your liking.

The moving images are what make this projector stand out the most. Typically, galaxy lamps have stationary projections. Those static images are beautiful in their own right, but nothing beats the look of fluid movement! In this projector, the nebulas and clouds drift across the projection space, which only cements the unit's superiority.

Overall, the Encalife Atmosphere performs well in any setting. It truly is a versatile system that adapts to your needs.

If you want to utilize it in a child's room, you can choose softer colors, dim down the brightness levels, and keep the movement features to a minimum. With those settings, the projector because a whimsical night light that your young one will enjoy as they drift off to dreamland!

But if you prefer something more exciting, the light can do that, too. Choose a vibrant light show with tons of movement. Then, use it in your game room or set it up at a party hall to create a cool backdrop for dancing and social fun! The choice is yours. The Encalife Atmosphere will perform well either way.

What's In The Box?

The Encalife Atmosphere might be feature-rich and high-tech. But, the packaging is pretty simple. Everything is built into one unit, leaving very little to unpack.

The box is well-designed and offers tons of protection. In fact, it's two boxes in one. The outer box is for safety. Open it up, and you'll find a decorative gift box inside. Side note: This projector makes a fantastic gift for anyone that enjoys galaxy-themed decor!

Inside the decorative box is the Atmosphere star projector. It's neatly wrapped in cardboard to prevent any accidental bumps and physical damage. Dig a little deeper, and you'll find a lengthy power cable and a power adapter.

Encalife also included an instruction manual. With a smart projector like the Atmosphere, it comes in handy! The manual is easy to understand and walks you through the setup process.

Controls & Functionality

One of the coolest parts of the Atmosphere galaxy and star projector is the control system. As we said earlier, you can take control of this system with your smartphone or your voice. There are no physical buttons to fiddle with at all!

If you choose the smartphone route, you'll have to download a standalone app. Called SmartLife, it's an intuitive little app that communicates with the projector via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi connection.

You have a myriad of control options in the app. You can set specific scenes, manipulate the laser stars, and choose exact colors. When you adjust color options, the app presents you with a full color wheel! Use your finger to slide through the spectrum. As you do this, the nebula clouds generated from the Atmosphere will change in real-time. Continue to experiment until you get things just right!

Sound Quality

Unfortunately, this star projector doesn't have any sound effects or integrated wireless speakers. It can work alongside your existing smart home speakers, but those are all standalone devices.

The Atmosphere is pretty silent. It does produce some modest noise. You may hear a slight humming when the lights are on. Typically, the humming comes from the internal movement as the projector brings those nebula clouds to life. The good news is that the noise is very minimal. Unless you're putting your ear to it, you shouldn't hear the noise too much.

Within the app, there are also options to control brightness settings and timers.

The timer function is convenient. Set the Atmosphere to display a show for only a few hours as you drift off to sleep. Once it reaches the time limit, the system will turn off automatically to prevent overheating and damage. It also comes with a scheduling feature, which is something you don't see very often in galaxy lamps! The scheduler is entirely automatic. Establish when the lights turn on and shut off. Create a schedule for the whole week! Then, forget about it! The Atmosphere will work its magic according to your established timeline.

The Encalife Atmosphere also works with smart home systems. It's compatible with Googe Home and Alexa smart speakers. After you add it to your smart home ecosystem, you won't even have to use your smartphone to turn it on. Just use the sound of your voice!

You must connect the Atmosphere to Wi-Fi for this feature to work. Once the connection is established, you can give it a name and provide voice commands. The system will not recognize complex commands for setting color options and other intricate settings. But, you can turn it on and set a timer whenever you see fit.

Durability

The Encalife Atmosphere is well-built, but it's not indestructible. This device is designed for indoor use. So, you're not going to get ultra-rugged housing that you can use anywhere.

That said, the device should hold up well to years of normal use. It features a rounded body made of plastic. A durable base holds it upright and keeps everything stable while in use. The stand is also adjustable, which is a nice touch.

The essential optical components are top-notch. Encalife uses premium glass optics. Not only are they durable, but they help to improve clarity and color saturation.

Customer Service & Guarantee

It doesn't seem like Encalife offers any guarantees or generous warranty policies. According to the official Encalife website, all you get is a 30-day return policy. Even then, you must provide proof of purchase. Any requests for return after that 30-day window are not considered.

Encalife does appear to have a dedicated customer support emails and is developing an online chat system. The sellers are available for contact through marketplace platforms like Amazon. They seem to be responsive to questions, which is a good thing.

Encalife Atmosphere Customers Reviews

Good quality galaxy light

I had been wanting one of these for a long time and finally bought one and went with this product as it has gotten very high ratings. It does not disappoint! It is SO cool!

There are so many different settings and I love that it can be controlled via an app on a phone. It also shipped very fast, which was awesome. My dogs, unfortunately, are terrified of it, so I won't be able to use it as much as I want to until I can hopefully get them used to it. I would definitely recommend this seller and product.

Looks amazing and was easy to set up!

Very cool! It was a little harder to set up than expected, but got it to work. My kiddo loves it, and it is a nice crisp projection. I like the Alexa integration, and that they include a kids story book with it. Only downside is there’s kind of a high pitched sound, but I’ve gotten used to it

Excellent Product, delivery was very fast, the product works well and is very easy to install, it looks amazing and the distance you can see the projection is a lot I tried it to 15 meters in darkness and illuminates very well. The projection angle is quite wide so you don't need so much separation from the ceiling to illuminate much from this to approximately 2 meters projects an area of approximately 5x5 meters. I loved it and will arrange more to give away the connection to Google home works very well and handling in your native application it's very good you can make many changes, different programming and scenes. I recommend it to 100%.

Excellent projector, works very well. Connected to Google home without problem. Thanks

- Ricky (Rating 5/5)

Overall: I like the projector. It's very calming and still fun to look at after a couple weeks of using it pretty regularly. There are some things I wish were set up better, but after pretty extensive research into all of the other nebula/star projectors I could find, I didn't find any others that solved them.

Pros:
- Totally quiet
- The app works really well and the timer function is handy. (Just make sure you use 2.4GHz wifi when you set it up, otherwise the app won't connect to the projector. I made that mistake.)
- Colors are bright and vivid. I wouldn't read by it, but I can see clearly with only the projector on.
- Stars aren't on a grid
- Both the cloud and the stars rotate separately and I like the speed options.

Cons:
- The stars aren't random. There is a pretty noticeable repeating pattern that kind of bothers me. However, the only star projector I found that doesn't do that (and has cool shooting stars) is the projector that is actually a plastic star. However, that projector has a bunch of reviews that say the lasers die really quickly. So maybe it isn't possible at the moment.
- The colors are more limited than you would expect from the advertising. However, once again, this is the same for all star projectors that I could find. They are simply different combinations of green, blue, and red. The color wheel in the app is misleading. There is no yellow. It just combines green and red and there is a slight yellowISH color right in the middle. Given that, you can create some pretty colors by combining them and it looks cool how they mix in the middle. I just wish if I selected purple then I had the option for the whole cloud would be purple.

Miscellaneous:
This can be a good or a bad thing depending on the room you want to use this in. I think it looks better at a distance. Higher ceilings or long rooms let the image really expand so you can appreciate the details and the stars aren't super close together. I use it in my bedroom which is maybe 12 ft wide, 14 ft long, and like 8 ft high. I don't want to place a projector in the center of my bedroom so I can't use the ball-shaped projectors, but unfortunately this projector stretches the image on the far walls and stays condensed on the near walls. So the stars/cloud get partially squished. I think it really looks best if it's pointed straight at a wall/ceiling in a smaller room. However, that is probably just the reality of using a projector.
